First discovered it when I was in Amsterdam in the summer of After a few lagers the bar man shouted us a free shot and we proceeded to drink via the Bolivian Kiss method lime, shot, lime again. Suffice to say that this was at around 12pm and we didn't get back to the hotel til gone 5am. Perfect to re energize yourself if you want a crazy night! In short, the drink tasted according to my memory like hair gel, not really special, but worth a try.
Overnight, this has become the talking point of my party. This is truly an incredible drink! When you first open the bottle, a smell of it can be a little off-putting, but in actual fact this is one very nice drink with a taste all of its own.
Unlike many shots, its not difficult to drink, there's no sharp and nasty twinges to leave you pulling faces, or battling with your stomach. The key element to this drink, lies in the form of a slice of lime.
There are many different ways to do this, but we found that squeezing some lime juice into the shot just before drinking gave the best results. To describe this, think drinking five cans of Red Bull at once! I originally ordered two bottles.
This very next day I've just had to order a further six bottles. Everyone is wanting to join in! Hoo Hoo!! The previous reviewer is right, everyone wants to give it a try. The Bolivian is definitely the way to do this, what I like to do is, shake it with ice before I pour it into shot glasses. You still get a full measure, but its nicer chilled, and the extra water breaks up a drink that's a little sweet and thick for my tastes. And with the lime makes it perfect.
And yes it does revive you a bit when you are flagging after having a few. A very cool drink and my new favourite shooter. This is truly a legendary drink, as soon as people hear it has coca leaf in it yes where cocaine comes from!
